World Future Energy Summit and Exhibition

In January 2013, the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) takes pride of place at the heart of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Under the theme of “Powering the Future of Energy Innovation”, WFES 2013, will bring together global leaders in policy, technology and business to develop new ways of thinking, and shape the future of renewable energy whilst prioritizing sustainability in their efforts to address the world’s social, environmental and economic challenges.

WFES 2012 brought together 26,200 attendees from 137 countries including 53 official delegations, 153 eminent speakers, 934 conference delegates, 623 exhibiting companies from 37 countries. All of which was reported on by 690 media representatives. WFES 2013 will be held during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) taking place from January 13-17 January, 2013, expected to be the largest gathering in the history of the region.
ADSW will commence with the third General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), now headquartered in Abu Dhabi; the sixth World Future Energy Summit; the first International Water Summit (IWS), co-located with WFES; the International Renewable Energy Conference (ADIREC), a biennial policy gathering convened by REN21 and held next year in Abu Dhabi ; and the fifth annual Prize Ceremony of the US$4 million Zayed Future Energy Prize.
