Additional Information

Training
1.Supervisory development program conducted by National Productivity Council, Madras.
2.Attended the course on “Welding of Steels & Stainless Steels” conducted by IIW, Chennai.

Achievements:

As part of thesis work for MS, I am associated in developing a new process called A-TIG (Activated TIG) process. In this process, a flux, which contains some active ingredients, is applied on to the surface prior to welding. With the application of flux, the depth of penetration increases by 75% and aspect ratio (D/W) by 160% as compared to conventional TIG welding process. The increase in the weld bead penetration allows the welding of thicker sections without any edge preparation. This increases the production rate and causes an improvement in economics.
