Field Medic: African Union Mission, Darfur, Sudan
Sole medic in field clinic providing medical support to approximately 400 personnel, mainly soldiers. Clinic is equipped for all emergency and clinical procedures along with the means to maintain priority one patients until medivac by rotary or fixed wing aircraft.
Responsibilities:
Patient treatment from primary health care to all emergency procedures and Advanced Life Support. Maintaining all equipment, stock take’s and drug orders, organization of expired and expiring drugs. Legal disposal of all expired drugs. Completing all official paperwork as required by the company.
Projects include:
Weekly camp inspections to ensure health and hygiene and functionality of all facilities. Encourage safe working and living practices in an attempt to reduce the risk of serious diseases spreading throughout the camp.
Upkeep and reporting of statistics on staffing levels to try and maintain a functioning camp under extremely adverse conditions.
