Procurement Engineer/Teechnical Buyer

<> From March 2007 to May2008¡VWorking as Procurement Officer, in leading Oil & Natural Gas Company owning 4 product carriers, 2 Bunker vessels & 2 crew boats, based in Dubai.
<> From May 2002 to March 2007 ¡VWorked as Technical Assistant / Purchaser In a Multinational Shipping Company (ITM - International Tanker Management Ltd), managing a fleet of 46 oil tankers including VLCC, based in Dubai.
<> From April 1997 to April 2002 ¡V Worked as Technical Assistant / Purchaser in a leading Shipping Company, Arabian Tankers LLC (Ship owners) based in Dubai.

Job Responsibilities
1.Procuring & supplying of spare parts (from makers), stores, lubes and LSA + FFA Equipments within the budget for the current fleet of 46 ships which are trading world wide.
2.Coordinating with Technical Superintendent to carry out various repairs, Underwater cleaning, Propeller polishing etc.
3.Budget analyzing and monitoring for the stores, spares supply & repairs.
4.Identifying and developing new suppliers, service providers and continuous evaluation of new and existing suppliers.
5.Sending out of enquiries, comparing of quotes and negotiation of rates/contracts, checking of budgets, issuing of purchase orders & sending of forwarding instructions to suppliers as per vessel call.
6.Liaison between suppliers ,global hubs, port agents for
Prompt and cost effective supplies to vessel (have closely associated with world¡¦s largest freight forwarders)
7.Sending detailed manifest to vessels & Port agents 48 hrs prior to delivery.
8.Updating the purchasing system on receipt confirmations from ships. Follow up of short & wrong supplies.
9.Clubbing of spares & choosing mode of transportation to reduce cost.
10.Follow up of items landed from vessel for repair work.
11.Control and approval of Supplier payments.

B.E. Mechanical(Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Karnataka University, India).

Holding a valid U.A.E. driving License.
