Career Objective
I aim to develop my knowledge & experience in either Petroleum Geoscience &/or Engineering while working in an internationally renowned petroleum province.
Professional Experience
Maureen Project (Nov-Dec 2004): multidiscplinary appraisal & characterisation project of the Maureen field.
•My team received an overall distinction for the project & was selected to represent the MSc program by promoting the success of the course to Petronas to establish a joint program.
•Responsible for interpreting core data while using seismic/petrophysical data to obtain geological information to develop a depositional model.
•Checking the consistency of findings with the engineer’s petrophysical analysis by arranging meetings to go over results to reduce uncertainties.
•Provided engineers with geological information to help with fluid flow tests & checking values of permeability that were vital in calculations of recovery factor & STOIIP estimates.
The Barrel Award (Feb-March 2005): field exploration study of offshore North Sumatra, Indonesia.
•Member of the wining team of the “2005” PESGB Barrel Award.
•Used literature research, past exploration, core & analogue field data to identify potential sand/carbonate reservoirs & developed model to predict lateral variation of sands/carbonates & the location of potential source kitchen areas.
•Helped team colleagues develop a stratigraphic chart, tectonic evolution, paleogeographical & structural base maps. Assisted colleagues with their seismic interpretation identify sedimentary structures & sequence stratigraphic events.
Independent Project (June-Sep 2005): “Evolution of the Orange Basin rift zone, offshore Namibia”, a project with Veritas DGC.
•Interpreted newly acquired 2D seismic data set with no well control of a highly under explored basin to establish its evolution & hydrocarbon potential.
•Used seismic to identify stratigraphic & tectonic features at depths which were unrecognisable in previous seismic surveys.
•Used extensive literature research to summarise regional geology & offshore geology.
•Identified & evaluated potential plays using seismic observations.
•Made recommendation for further exploration based on seismic & existing petroleum activities.
Eductation
MSc Petroleum Geoscience (high pass): Imperial College London, Oct 2004-Sept 2005.
BSc Honours in Geology (2:2): University of Birmingham, Sept 1999-July 2002.
Additional Information
I am a hard working, enthusiastic & innovative individual with a strong sense of loyalty. I have learnt many new skills & approaches during my MSc using industrial data from the North Sea, SE Asia & the Middleast & company based technologies and software. I have the willingness to work in challenging & unconventional conditions & also to undertake any training & development programmes in order to improve my knowledge. Additionally, I'm available to travel & work a flexible schedule.
