Refining Operations Manager (Dec.1998 – Jan. 2003)
PDVSA (Petr?leos de Venezuela)•Operations and Capital Budgeting for all Processes, Operations and Maintenance Activities for a 125,000 Bbls / day Plant.•General Coordination of Bitumen Treatment (Dehydration and Desalting), Distillation Unit.•Coordination of batching transportation process through a 36 inch and 240 miles pipeline. Products of deferent specifications were pumped from the production area to the marine terminal. Special quality control plans and operational procedures .•Coordination for Oil tankers loading at the deep water terminal in the Caribbean Sea, to achieve this activity was necessary to count on a non-spill plan to avoid any impact at the environment.Operations Superintendent. (Jul. 1993 – Dec. 1998).
Coordinating activities for a Petroleum Refining Plant. Three units compose this Plant: Dehydration and Desalting, Heating and the Stripping Column besides the utilities (Gas, Air and water).Specific activities:•Operations Optimization to maximize the stripping column capacity in order to low refining costs and maximize profits to the owner and lowering the downtime during overhaul for any equipment associated .Troubleshooting Coordinator for the distillation tower, Boilers, Electrostatic Separator, Heat Exchangers, Dynamic and Static Mixers to ensure proper operation of the plant.
•General Coordination of Turnaround activities for the Petroleum Refining Plant during 1998. ( this activity was performed on time to supply the clients requirements)
Process Plant Chief (Aug. 1988 – Jul. 1993)Dehydration of an emulsion with an Oil / Water ratio 55:45, Water treatment for a steam generator used for the process facilities, and the Stripping Column, Production planning according to clients` requirements, minor maintenance for all Dynamic and static equipments. Coordinator for the Sewage Products in order to dispose the oily water from the dehydration process.
Operations Supervisor (mar. 1980 - Oct. 1987).Gas lift supervisor, most of the oil productions of PDVSA coming from the western division coming from the injection of gas lift to different depths•Maximization of gas–liquid separation for flow station to increase the oil capacity.Mechanical Pumping for heavy crude Oil at the Maracaibo Lake (Venezuela).Steam Barge Operations.
