Jan 2003 – To date

Working as a Drilling Engineer with OMV Pakistan.
• Worked on Drilling and Work over operations as Night Company man.
• Good Understanding of almost all the major operations at the Rigsite i.e. drilling 26” to smaller hole sections (Including PDC drilling), Directional Drilling, Running different casing and Liner strings, Cementing casing and setting cement plugs, Installing well heads, Coring, setting packers, running completions, Plug and abandonment, Rigless P&A jobs etc.
• Involved in preparing Drilling programs including Casing Design and Cement Recipe designing, Mud and Bits selection for different sections , Drill string design and analysis. Preparing Final well reports.
• Actively involved in day to day drilling/completion/testing operations supporting the Drilling Team with all possible inputs
• Preparation of contracts for all major Drilling services and selection of appropriate services providers
• Involved in depth in designing all types of casing strings including HTHP wells

July 2000 – Dec 2002

• Worked with Anadrill Schlumberger as a Directional Drilling Engineer.
• Having worked both in Pakistan and abroad on various directional wells.
• In Pakistan, I have worked with almost all major operating companies, which include:

Besides Pakistan, I have worked in Yemen on the following directional wells:
1) Yemen Hunt (Horizontal Well)
2) Jannah Hunt (Slant well, correction Run)
3) D.N.O (Sidetrack, slant well)
All these wells included planning of well profiles, BHA designing, selecting optimum hydraulics program, etc.

Mechanical Engg (Hons) From U.E.T Taxila, Pakistan (4 Years Degree)

• Attended specialist phase-1 course for Directional Drilling at Bottesford in England held in March 2001

The course included, other than direction drilling techniques, general overview of mud system, well control, fishing tools, and drilling bits.
• Successfully completed IWCF well control course held in Abu-Dhabi in Feb 2003.
• Basic Reservoir Engineering course from Oil & Gas training Institute in Islamabad in August 2003.
• Drilling Fluids course arranged by MI in Aug 2003.
• Horizontal and Extended Reach wells drilling in Feb 2004 in Islamabad.
• Advanced well control in Feb 2004.
• Completions and Well performance in Dec 2004 in Abu Dhabi
• Wire line Logs Interpretation in May 2005
• Stuck Pipe Prevention in June 2005

• Hand on experience on working well-planning software; it includes planning of well profiles, designing bottom hole assemblies, evaluating the tendencies of BHA, Torque & drag analysis, optimizing hydraulics program, etc.
• Preparing Drilling programs and Final well reports report, which includes comprehensive data about activities and complications during the course of the well.
• Prepared and Delivered presentation at annual “SPE conference” on “Drilling optimization using latest emerging technologies” in Oct 2003.
