Completed an engineering apprenticeship at the school of Electrical Mechanical Engineers on all forms of plant/hydraulic machinery, generators, all variants of light and heavy commercial vehicles, cars and motorbikes.
Was given the rank of Lance Corporal (workshop supervisor) this involved the supervision and development of junior tradesmen and delegation of workloads to other members of the workforce.
Daily duties involved parts identification, sourcing estimating repair times, inspections, general repair and maintenance of all Diesel Engines/generators, wheeled and tracked equipment and performing tests to diagnose faults and ensure equipment is fit for purpose. Had to work to deadlines to ensure all equipment was maintained to full operational effectiveness by British Army standards.
Responsible for safety inspections and carrying out risk assessments within the work place, ensuring all legislation was adhered too.
