Promoted with in Vetco Gray to this position with the responsibility for all Vetco Gray QHSE throughout West Africa both on and offshore.
September 2006 – April 2007 HSE Supervisor Vetco Gray (Angola Cabinda Chevron Malongo Facility)
World renowned oil and gas Service Company supplying well head equipment for both sub-sea and surface well heads. This is a staff position looking after all aspects of Health and Safety at the Vetco Gray facility Malongo Base Cabinda Angola.
• Conducting daily tool box talks
• Acting as mentor to two Angolan HSE trainees
• Closing out of the STOP cards, insuring that any corrective actions required are implemented.
• Compiling end of month Safety statistics for both Head office and Chevron
• Taking part in monthly contractors HSE representatives meetings
• Carrying out Risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Root Cause Analysis and daily walk-rounds and controlling the permit to work system.
• Conducting HSE presentations to sponsors
• Implemented various HSE improvement programs including, daily walkdown sheets, hazard identification workshops, Improvements to the STOP work authority (feed back to work force) and getting involved with the daily tasks of the workforce
July 2006 - August 2006 QHSE Manager
This was a short term contract in Brazil for a world leading International Dredging consortium setting up the Health Safety and Quality manuals / systems along with the procedures for both. This is a 200 million Euro contract for Krupp Steel (CSA Brazil) building a new port and steel manufacturing facility in Sepetiba Bay. As well as the above there was daily contact with the Brazilian regulatory authorities for various permit applications, Sop’s and general requirements for working in Brazil.
