Career Objective
Create DRA manufacturing and research facility in the Middle East
Professional Experience
GLOW Specialty Chemicals, Sandnes, Norway, 2003-2005
Research and Development Manager Developed and built DRA manufacturing, application, and testing facilities. Prepared tenders, proposals, predictions and presentations for commercial pipeline companies in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Provided technical support to customers. Worked on product formulations. Was responsible for Company QC system.
University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK, 2000-2004
Research Associate Operated and maintained Digital Instruments and Molecular Imaging atomic force microscopes. Related polymer morphology to polymer performance (publication listed below). Studied the thermal properties of polymers using TGA and DSC and related this data to other polymer properties. Fabricated lithium polymer micro-batteries and studied their charge-discharge properties using afm. Used RF magnetron physical vapor deposition to coat materials with metals and metal oxides. Coated samples with gold for SEM analysis.
US FlowChem, Cypress, TX, 2000-2001
Consultant Developed and built chemical manufacturing and quality control facilities for the manufacture of polyolefin drag reducing agents.
Energy and Environmental International (EEI), Brookshire, TX, 1996-2000
Product Development Manager Developed new catalyst systems for the synthesis of ultra-high molecular weight poly(alpha-olefins). Designed and assembled a product development and quality control laboratory. Participated in the design, construction, and operation of a polyolefin plant.
Baker Performance Chemicals, Sand Springs, OK, 1987-1996
Senior Chemist Developed gel and slurry DRA products. Conducted DRA tests in Brunei and Egypt. Participated in DRA test on the Trans Alaska Pipeline System. Equipped commercial pipelines with data loggers to continuously monitor pipeline pressures, flow rate, and DRA performance. Wrote data acquisition software for laboratory flow loops. Designed and operated a pilot plant. Studied the performance of polyacrylamide drag reducing agents in aqueous systems. Studied DRA performance and solubility in LPG and NGL.
AMOCO Production Company, Tulsa, OK, 1985-1987
Research Technician Used Laser Doppler Anemometer to measure fluid velocity under tri-cone drill bits. Designed and built closed acrylic test cell to hold bit and allow non-invasive measurement of 3-dimensional velocity components.
