Summary of Employment Details:
Responsibilities as Hospital Chief Engineer in Ministry of Health:
· In charge of the technical and administrative functions of the Department of Engineering of Rustaq Hospital and the supervision of the maintenance of the peripheral hospitals, polyclinics and health centers of the South Batinah Region.
· Supervise and co-ordinate the service and maintenance activities of the Engineering systems, diagnostic services, clinical engineering, office equipments, computers and the plant utilisers of the hospital including electrical, air-conditioning, steam boiler, generator, water purification, CSSD, laundry, sewage treatment plant, medical gas, incinerator, vacuum facilities, telephones, plumbing, workshops, painting, civil engineering etc.
· Supervise the activities of Electrical Engineer, A/C Engineer/Mechanical Engineer, Bio-medical Engineer and all other Sub contractor’s staff of various trades. (75 Nos). Supervise the landscaping works of the hospital campus.
· Advise the users/purchase section on the selection of equipment, scrutinize the technical details in quotations and orders before release, check the equipment and certify them on delivery.
· Supervise and coordinate the ongoing maintenance of all equipment and installations in the hospitals / peripheral polyclinics and sub-centers.
· Co-ordinate the staff training activities of the Department.
· Responsible for preparation of spare part lists for critical items of plant & equipment together with consumable spare parts required for the day-to-day operation of the Hospital. These must be submitted in good time considering the time taken to purchase spares, particularly from abroad.
· Prepare and submit a "Plant Replacement Programme" to the Hospital Administration annually to match with the prevailing “Five year plan” to ensure that adequate resources are arranged in advance for major plant renewal and upgrading.

· Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. (1995)
· M.E. in Heat Power Engineering from Barathiyar University. (1984), First Class
· B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University. (1982), First Class
