With an oilfield career spanning nearly three decades, Brian Lunan has been an active participant in various reservoir drilling enhancement projects working both the operating side and service side of the Oil and Gas industry in North America and in over 50 International countries. In particular he has worked and lectured on the new technologies of Advanced Underbalanced Drilling Systems, and authored several papers on the topic. He is a Consulting Reservoir Exploitation Engineer who has been integral to the development of new technology for carbonate, sandstone and heavy oil reservoirs. Further he has developed detailed technical materials for interactive instructional Oil and Gas workshops. Working as part of a Domestic and/or International team, he has successfully exploited by-passed hydrocarbons by applying the Lunan Stage Gate Process for horizontal UB, B & OB drilling technologies and advanced stimulation systems. He also developed a tool system and an analysis system for pre and post-fracture evaluation.
During 2005 his focus has been on Well and Reservoir optimization working with the Well Doctors to utilize the SGP to exploit bypass pay opportunities in existing wells. In addition he has become involved in the entire Coal Bed Methane exploration and development process from the Drill Bit to Surface Facilities.
Mr Lunan holds a B.Sc Hons in Metallurgy from Strathclyde University, Glasgow and a M.Sc with Credits in Petroleum Engineering and Exploration from Aberdeen University, Scotland, UK.
