I am a single Chief Fire Officer and EMT-Paramedic looking for opportunities to practice my skills abroad. I believe my background, training and acquired skill sets make me quite adept at working in the international theater.

Division Chief / EMS Operations Officer
Responsible for managing, directing and providing training for an all volunteer ALS Ambulance transport company within the Fire Department. Oversee quality assurance program and participate in protocol development for Moscow and Latah county EMS agencies. Interact with multiple local officials from surrounding jurisdictions to plan and execute regional disaster exercises. Function as the lead Medic on high priority medical calls and as the Command officer on working fires.


July ’02 – Nov. ‘04 Eugene Fire Department Eugene, OR
Medic II
Lead medic on an ALS ambulance responsible for patient care, crew safety and vehicle readiness in a busy urban environment. Provide field training and oversight to new recruits and Paramedic interns. Perform patient assessment and administer medical treatment followed by thorough documentation. Assist with vehicle extrication and function occasionally as the accountability officer on structure fires.


Oct. ’02 – Nov. ’04 Linn-Benton Community College Albany, OR
Fire Service Instructor
Taught Basic and NFPA Firefighter I classes for recruit firefighters in Linn and Benton counties. Present lecture materials utilizing PowerPoint, video, and hands on demonstration. Train and evaluate recruits on the drill field in firefighter task performances.

Administered physical fitness tests and drug screening for employees. Treated workplace injuries, tracked workers compensation claims and workability reports. Trained the Emergency Response Team in a variety of first aid skills.

Assessed and treated primarily pediatric patients at a de-mobilized child soldier camp in Southern Sudan, Africa. Transported patients to distant clinics, dispensed medication, coordinated supply and transport flights, taught health and AIDS Awareness classes. Responsible for hiring, supervising, negotiating wages and writing contracts for camp compound construction workers. Assisted in the management of a 350 member de-mobilized child soldier camp and functioned as camp treasurer, radio operator and principle driver.
