I have worked over the 25 years in the second largest Romanian refinery within different production units, gaining valuable know-how of the day-to-day operating challenges, precommissioning, commissioning and start-up unit and maintenance works:
- operation experience in: Crude Desalting Unit; Crude and Vacuum Distillation Unit, the Naphtha, Gas oil and Jet Fuel Hydrotreaters Units, The UOP semi-regenerative Reformer Unit, Gas Fractionation, MTBE, BTX, Extraction and Isomerization Units.
- Experience in working onshore and offshore for pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of processing platform (Iran), Ammonia Plant (Oman), Gas Plant (Libya), Sulphur Recovery Unit and Hydrogen Generation Unit (Oman);
- Experience in dosing of depressants, oxidation inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, foaming inhibitor, cetane number booster (Nalco, Betz Dearborn, Octel, BASF)
- Experience in catalyst regeneration in situ
- Operation during plant start-up and trial run activities
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Experience in plant control with DCS stations and PLC;
- Experience with the following main equipments: rotary pumps (Sulzer, Worthington, Ingersoll Rand, Sundyne); centrifugal-type compressors (Ingersoll Rand, GHH), boilers, furnaces, etc.
- Experience in identifying of the troubleshoot plant problems and recommendation engineering solutions. Thus, in 2001 I proposed and implemented an improvement to the Rompetrol Gas Oil Hydrotreater Unit that brought the gas oil water content down to European levels, thus allowing exports to the EU .

I worked for Snamprogetti Company for the erection, commissioning and start-up of a Ammonia Plant.
