PROMOTE THE GOOD ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY AND IMPROVE THE MORAL OF INDUSTRY..

A. Advise management on the following:
i. Ways to prevent injury to personnel, damage to plant and/or equipment and property.
ii. Ways to improve existing work methods.
iii. Legal and contractual requirements affecting safety, health and welfare.
iv. Provision and use of protective clothing and equipment.
v. Potential hazards on site before work start and on the safety organization and fire precautions required.
vi. Changes in safety requirements.
B. Carry out site surveys to see that only safe work methods are in operation, that health and safety requirements are being observed, and welfare and First aid facilities are adequate and properly maintained.
C. Determine the cause of any accident (or damage occurence) and recommend means of preventing recurrences of such an incident.
D. Supervise the recording and analysis of information on injuries, damage and production loss. Assess accident trends and review overall safety performance.
E. Assist with training employees at all levels.
F. Take part in discussion on injury, damage and loss control.
G. Keep up to date with recommended codes of practice and safety literature.
Circulate information applicable to each level of employees.
H. Foster within the company an understanding that injury prevention and damage control are an integral part of business and operational efficiency.
I. Attend job progress meetings where safety is an item on the agenda. Report job safety performance.
