Career Objective
A multi-disciplined, highly motivated Technical Manager presently employed on overseas contract as Department Head for the repair of military land based communications, optronics and control eqpt. Aiming to branch out into the oil and gas industry.
Professional Experience
2001-Present: Currently carrying out work for the Brunei Ministry of Defence, managing a team of seventeen local and expatriate technicians in a military telecommunications department. The aim of employment is to train and inspire local staff to become more self sufficient in the future. Position includes duties such as;- business development, assisting with ease of maintenance assessments, writing technical reports, reviewing manning levels on an annual basis, performing staff appraisals, and sourcing of spares to keep the department productive.
2001: Employed as a Consultant to Railtrack. Position involved performing an asset tracking exercise for signalling and track circuit layouts and locations. Resulting data was then analysed to find locations with the highest asset count. Trackside audits were then performed at these locations.
1999-2001: Technical Instructor, instructing military students at the School of Electronic and Aeronautical Engineering. Subjects included the technical maintenance and repair, to 3rd Line on BATES, Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), Artillery System for the 90s (AS90) and MILAN guided missile.
1998 - 1999: Technical Grade One in Electronic Control Equipment at the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill, Wilts, carrying out diagnosis and repair on electronic control systems such as MLRS, AS90, BATES, military radio and ancillaries.
1989 - 1998: Optical Instrument Technician at Army Base Repair organisation (ABRO) Warminster, Wilts. Carrying out diagnosis and repair on a wide variety of optical equipment used by the Armed Forces. This included Laser Target Markers, Passive Night Vision systems, and Thermal Imaging and white light optical instruments. Duties also included supervision of the section in the section leaders absence.
1986 - 1989: Apprenticeship served at Vickers Instruments in York. This covered all aspects of Optical instrument assembly and testing for both the defence and private sector.
