Project Engineer

To acquire a permanent Project Management position that will utilize my education, experience and technical competence in a team oriented project environment to the hydrocarbon industries.

• Nearly 16 years professional experience in Project engineering including Design/ Engineering of process equipment, packages including piping systems for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical projects.
• Ability to direct complex On-shore, Off-shore projects from concept to fully operational status.
• Organized, highly motivated, enjoys challenging and dynamic work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:-

Project Engineer
• Complete Project Engineering services to major projects spanning various stages such as Feasibility, Conceptual Design, FEED and EPC.
• Front end Development of projects prior to Final investment decision, preparation of Decision support packages applying principles of value Assurance Process ( VAP).
• Development of project execution strategy, project cost estimate and project schedules.
• Key liaison between internal business groups, stake holders and contractors to meet requirements of project deliverables.
• Execute project controls to ensure project is delivered successfully.
• Support during implementation phase including Design reviews, constructability, value engineering, project risk assessment, HSE studies, HAZOP, SIL etc.

Mechanical Engineer
• Lead Design Engineer for mechanical group responsible for coordination of design/analysis of static equipments as per international codes and detailed engineering activities of a multi-discipline team.
• Responsible for designing, developing technical specifications based on process design basis, preparation of material requisition, tender specification, evaluating technical bids and purchasing of process equipment, process skid units and package equipment.
• Review of fabrication drawings, Participation in functional testing at shop/site, trouble shooting during fabrication/ erection, Vendor coordination for all technical related matters and preparing inputs to other disciplines for further engineering.
• Providing technical field support to the construction team.
• Prepare initial cost estimates, man hour estimate and schedule and equipment specifications for EPC proposals.
• Responsible for coordination with process group in the selection of material based on service, corrosion and operating conditions
• Guidance and Supervision of Job – Engineers, Draughtsman
• Project progress monitoring and adherence to schedules
• Ensuring Quality Control requirements.

Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (1986-1990), Annamalai University, India, University Gold medalist
Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management, All India Management Association , India
Project Management Professional ( PMP), Project Management Institute, USA.

Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers ( ASME)
Member of Project Management Institute ( PMI) USA)

Working Knowledge in the use of ASME,ANSI,API,TEMA,BS and other related international codes related to process equipments and piping.
Quite conversant with the use of Shell DEP and major oil company’s specification in the areas of process package equipment and piping.

Very much conversant with Project Management Book of Knowledge ( PMBOK) Guide and applying the same for effective project management.


Hands on experience in the use of PVELITE, CodeCALC and COMPRESS software for pressure vessel design and B-JAC for Heat exchanger mechanical design.
Experience in preparation of fabrication drawings through AUTOCAD- Release 14.
Quite conversant with the use of MS Office programs and Planning packages such as MS Project , Primavera, ERP package like MAXIMO
