Process Engineer

I strive to serve as Process Engineer (chemical) in a prestigious and esteemed organization, accompanied with an energetic contemplation of working hard, with zeal of learning of worlds latest professional skills, in full satisfaction of my superiors

Currently, I am engaged with SAUDI ARAMCO as Process Engineer through consultancy of ZATE. I am working on ARAMCO CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT FOR BULK PLANTS, RAS TENURA REFINERY/ SOUTH JEDDAH REFINERY/ NORTH RIADH REFINERY, NGL line expansions etc. My responsibility includes;
Preparation and review of PIDs, PFDs and Piping Lay out reviews, Process Design & Process Simulation of existing as well as proposed installations on SIMCI PIPEPHASE, PRO-II and ASPEN HYSYS, etc software. Propose modifications/ up-gradation of existing installations, de-bottlenecking of existing plants. Conduct the HAZOP study for upstream and downstream Oil & Gas installations. Planned meeting with ARAMCO Project staff on the progress of process design projects.

I worked at Technical Services section as Process Design Engineer and worked as a responsible engineer for the monitoring of Reformer, Hydrotreater and Crude distillation (Atmospheric/ Vacuum distillation) plants, carried out Process Simulations of existing Distillation plants for improved product quality on the basis of different crude blends fed to the plants.
Run HYSYS/ PRO-II Simulation for Evaluation and Rating of PUMPS, HEAT EXCHANGER, FIRED HEATERS, TRIM COOLERS, AIR COOLERS, PRESSURE VESSELS, Multi type DISTILLATION COLUMNS, MIXERS, FLASH VESSELS, CONTROL VALVES, and BOILERS etc.
Run SIMSCI hydraulic software like PIPEPHASE for versified Hydraulic calculations and evaluations.
Run multi ASPEN based software for check most balanced Petroleum Cut/Blends blends to get required products specifications from versified refinery units.
Performed/ proposed a number of modification jobs for better plant operation and flexibility of reformer/ distillation units.
Monitored the performance of four Distillation Units, Hydrotreater and Catalytic Reformer on daily basis.
Assisted in Monthly Production Planning for next month considering crude receipts and expected products up-liftment.

2000 B.Sc Chemical Engineering (Specialization In petroleum & Gas Technology): 1st class with 77% aggregate from Institute of chemical engineering &Technology University of the Punjab, Lahore.

I am a registered Professional chemical engineer from PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) with Registration# CHEM-4928.

SPECIAL PROJECT:
1. REGENERATION OF REFORMER CATALYST;
I was deputed as Process monitoring supervisor and equally responsible for the monitoring of REFORMER catalyst regeneration process on Technical point of view under the technical assistance of UOP consultant Mr. Mickel Wion (Specially hired from USA as UOP consultant). The overall Catalyst regeneration process was an up-hill task to regenerate the Hydrotreater catalyst Cobalt/ Molybdenum S-12, and Semi –Regeneration catalyst Platinum/ Rhenium R-56.

2. INCINERATOR DESIGN;
Detailed designing and latterly operational implementation of INCINERATOR to incinerate refinery waste sludge of @ 2.4 M Tons/day that included Designing of sludge burning furnace, heat exchanger, Stack, Blower and Burners required for required heater duty.

3. TO REDUCE REFINERY LOSSES ON PRODUCT DISPATCH/ CRUDE RECEIPT:
This project was initiated on the interest of CEO of ARL to module the refinery an ideal one. I contributed to this teamwork as an important member. My responsibilities were;

OHSAS course on Hazard assessment of refinery operations.
Attended a training course on “Production of different grades of Jet-Fuels and MMT (A RON booster) blending.
Attended a training course on “Designing of Fired Heaters and Heat Exchangers” conducted by UOP representative.
Participated in a training course on “Training of Trainer” presented by fire & safety.
