Career Objective
Career interest:Exploration geologist, well site geologist, logging geologist
Professional Experience
Duties:Planning - Selecting priority target for core drilling (based on airborne and ground mag measurements)- Assuring that access roads to anomalies are cleared and comply with machinery schedule. - Assuring that the efficiency of the drilling operations is not affected by logistic delays. GIS & mapping- Responsible for the mines overall’s mapping database system: Georeferencing, layering, merging: sampling positions / roads / airborne geophysical / air photography / land Sat, etc - Processing / representing data from DGPS crew: topographic contours / resource area calculations. Field and geochemistry laboratory- Managing depth / position of drilling, logging core, detail petrographic descriptions.- Selecting core specimens for mineralogical studies. Quality control on the sample treatment.- Microscopic identif/quantif of indicator minerals. Analysing results of spectrometry analyses: (S.Africa) - estimation of grade potential based on results. Geophysical & stratigraphical data processing - Representations- Processing raw data from ground magnetometer crew. Filtering / processing results. - Managing and updating the down-hole-logger database software – “Datamine”: stratigraphical logs, tables, sections, correlations, subsurface modelling. Reports and training - Reporting to head office / Angolan representative to the foreign investor’s company project. - Training Angolan graduates employed by Project: software, field equipment, processing results.Duties:Geographic Positioning (mooring) - Calculations of the center spread and the vessel’s anchors position for the correct mining location. - Monitoring / placement of anchors positions during the spread manoeuver for Captain’s reference. Geological reports (daily) - Litho-Stratigaphic interpretation of the sediment recovery. - Calculation: area and volume mined (ArcView) - Sonargraphic interpretation / 3D image modelling - Oceanographic mapping of tailings.Assisting the mine manager and the tools operators (daily)- Geo-technical opinion on stripping rate, depositional characteristics of the gravel, sediment penetration and trench mining direction. -
