Graduate Chemical Engineer

To secure a Graduate Chemical Engineering position in an organisation where I can utilise my education and analytical skills to gain experience and technical know-how in order to be an asset to the company.

I possess comprehensive process engineering techniques for the petroleum refining, chemical and petrochemical plants, food and alcohol, natural gas processing, and pharmaceutical industries. I am well educated on chemical engineering industry design and optimisation, economic analysis, process safety and the use of design calculations for equipment sizing and rating. I have strong analytical skills and I have acquired a broad base of knowledge in many engineering and scientific computing areas specialising in process simulation and modelling, equipment design and statistical process analysis.

I have experience in chemical engineering calculations in the use of the design of several industrial units such as heat exchangers, distillation columns, reactors, filtration units and storage units. My knowledge of safety in engineering has been incorporated in the form of HAZOP analyses and the design and implementation of safety valves and techniques.

My studies in petroleum engineering included an in-depth study of the oil and gas industry including quantitative procedures of refinery process design and optimisation, experience of refining calculations, refinery optimisation techniques, the economics of petroleum refining, and the integration of refining processes to achieve different objectives.

My studies in detail included the use of material and energy balances, mechanisms and principles of operations involving flow of fluids, chemical composition changes, and the inter-relationship between heat and power. Further study focused on common process operations and equipment, including design methods with emphasis on the oil and gas industry, biotechnology, environmental protection, safety and project management, chemical thermodynamics and engineering management. Communication and presentation skills and computer graphics were attained along with optional modules of engineering mathematics and the introduction to finance and accounting. Petroleum engineering was studied highlighting the exploration, design and development of wells, petroleum geoscience and reservoir engineering.
