1. Project TOTAL EXPLORATION & PRODUCTION CONGO : November 2005 to June 2006 : On board Accommodation & Work barge “Offshore Olympia” of Intership Ltd (St.Vincent & The Grenadines) with a capacity of 500 persons located in the Oil & Gas Field of Congo chartered by TOTAL Congo. During the above period Offshore Olympia was tied up to the floating production platform – NKP at NKOSSA Oil Field (for Shut Down project) and was also anchored 1.5 NM Off TAP Platform at Tchibouela / South Sector Oil Field.
Duties on board included but not limited to :
HSE, Administration and Communications.
Helicopter Operations with the HLO. Communication Officer with Helicopters.
Liaison with TOTAL Logistics regarding all operational and HSE matters.
Complying with TOTAL’s MEDIVAC Procedures and responsible for Emergency Response Team.
Notification and Alerting Drills for SOPEP as per MARPOL 73/78 IMO Regulations.
Designated Safety Officer for HSE.
Conducting Safety Committee Meetings.
Issuing Work Permits.
Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly LSA & FFA Inspection as per the Fire / Safety Plan.
Carried out Safety Awareness Sessions to enhance Safety Culture including Safety Videos.
Checking / Ensuring that all sub-contractors comply with the safety procedures.
Responsible for upgrading & training HSE policies & practices to the crew.
Complying with planned drills / evacuation procedures.
Complying with Accident/Incident Announcement & Investigation reports and reviews.
Carried out Internal ISM Audit to prepare the vessel for a successful External ISM Audit for long term certification. Certificate obtained from ABS.
Supervising the relevant key operations to ensure HSE compliance.
Assisted in Planned Maintenance System in all the HSE related areas.
Briefing to the newcomers regarding personal safety and HSE.
Maintenance of SORB (Safety Officer’s Record Book) effectively and efficiently.
Liaison with CSO / DPA regarding effectiveness of SMS/ISM, SOLAS & MARPOL and implementing the related amendments.
Liaison / Communications with Shore Based ERT (Emergency Response Team).
Handled Multi-National workers / passengers including but not limited to Filipinos, Indonesians, Congolese, Nigerians, French and English.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Contribution in achieving 2 Million Man Hours LTI Free on board Accommodation & Work Barge “Offshore Olympia” chartered by TOTAL Congo in the Oil & Gas Field of Congo Offshore between November 2005 and June 2006.
2. Contribution in achieving 1.8 Million Man Hours LTI Free on board Accommodation & Work Barge “Europa” chartered by ENI Congo in the Oil & Gas Field of Congo Offshore between December 2004 and March 2005.
3. Saved the life of an engineer (who had accidentally swallowed a piece of hack-saw blade) by independently taking him to the hospital in Salvador (Brazil) without knowing the local language and without the assistance of local agent.
4. Solved every HSE matter on board during operations in the oil field to achieve the targets of 0 LTI, Safe Working Practices, Proper Waste Disposal & Environments Damages Prevention by promoting and developing HSE Culture & Awareness through intensive training and incentives, Proper Risk Assessment, Adherence of JSA & JHA, Implementing Permit To Work (PTW) system, Critical Activities in Hazardous Locations, PPE, MSDS, Safe Cargo Operations, Safe Storage and Handling of Chemicals, Standards, Procedures and HSE Plan.
5. Achieved 1022 days LTI Free in the Oil & Gas Industry.
