MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT PROJECT MANAGEMENT

He joined Petrola S.A. refinery in 1993 and worked as head of the design group, inspection dept. head, mechanical maintenance dept. head and senior mechanical engineer. His responsibilities include the management of all mechanical, civil maintenance and scheduling activities, supervising a 100-person daily team of Petrola and contractors’ staff. During these years he gained extended experience particularly in technical staff management (working usually under time restrictions and task achievement pressure), maintenance budget preparation and execution, use of Maintenance/Inventory/Purchasing Computerized Systems and preventive/predictive maintenance tools (such as vibration and oil analysis techniques), familiarity with Reliability Centered & Total Productive Maintenance philosophy and experience in codification of 25.000 industrial spare parts.
He has provided overall coordination and supervision over extensive installation/modification projects / routine, preventive and turnaround maintenance activities / planning and scheduling works / services of various subcontractors and equipment overhauls (total cost between 1996-2004: ~$10.000.000) / design and inspection works during commissioning of various refinery units. He is well experienced in the fields of project execution, non-destructive testing methods, inspection, quality control, maintenance and design engineering works, material specification and procurement. During the a.m. period he was involved as team leader of various cross-functional teams dedicated to important company tasks (BPR processes, Shutdown Management, Root cause analysis processes, etc) in order to improve maintenance performance.

Prior to PETROLA S.A. he worked with Motor Oil S.A. refinery as design engineer, head of inspection section and maintenance projects supervisor. During that period he performed quality control, maintenance and design work for various process units - especially during shutdowns - such as Catalytic Cracker / Reformer/ Visbreaker /Vacuum and Atmospheric Distillation units. Equipment involved was vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, air coolers, fired heaters (mechanical and refractory works), tanks, steel structures, piping , etc.
