ECG (ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS GROUP), Cairo, Egypt (October, 2004 – Present)
Assistant Resident Engineer
• In November 2005, joined NACO-ECG; a joint venture between Netherlands Airport Consultants and ECG. The joint venture was awarded the consultancy supervision contract of the new 11 million passengers per year terminal building of Cairo airport. The main contractor is TAV (Tepe Akfen) and Dar Al Handassa as project managers. Performed such tasks as reviewing all special systems submittals, co-ordinating with the design office, designing the fire protection system, reviewing all fire protection submittals, shop drawings and calculations, responsible for inspecting and approving conveying systems, and preparing for weekly progress meetings. Responsible for coordination between the main construction contract and the main IT separate contract. Managed a proposal and took part in the negotiations of NACO-ECG’s Contract extension with the client.
Piping and Process Engineer
• Member of the piping and process team designing the Sweidieh Oil project in Syria. The project included crude oil gathering, transportation, and separation in addition to injecting water back into the oil wells for increased production performance.
• Participated in the design of the Marsa Alam Diesel Power Station, 2 X 8 MW HFO fired. Scope included the design of fuel storage and treatment, all yard piping and station services.
HITACHI, Cairo, Egypt (June, 2004 - October, 2004)
Trainee
• On-site trainee during the assembly and installation of a 250 MW Hitachi Steam Turbine at Cairo North Combined Cycle Power Plant.
