Professional Experience

During my career of 19 years I have gained valuable financial – and cost accounting, financial and cost management and control, auditing experience from small/ medium concerns, as well as corporate companies, where I was involved in various areas of the day to day management of the financial and operational environment. The knowledge and experience I have gained, are not limited to:
•Implementation, continuous evaluation of financial and operational systems, policies and procedures, systems of internal controls and processes and the training and management of financial and operational staff to ensure that financial and operational objectives of the organization were met and to deliver operational solutions through Quality Management processes to improve productivity, efficiency and effectiveness;
•Management of the full financial function which included compiling, verifying and the analysis and reconciliation of financial data and accounts in the General Ledger and Costing of project expenditure, compilation of Statutory Returns, management of the payroll function, invoicing and management of debtors, management of creditors, management of the Cash Book -, Petty Cash – and Supply Chain system, Materials management, Site management, Management of Plant and equipment and maintenance of the Asset Register;
•Preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS, as well as other Management Reports (Cash Flow Statements, Budget Control and other monthly financial reports, financial forecasts, Project Cost and – Control Reports, variance reports an the interpretation of Financial Statements) to create a vital link between financial reporting and operational departments and the management of Liquidity and Profitability,
•Compilation, Management and co-ordination of the Operational – and Capital Budget, which includes budgeting and Strategic Financial Planning, Forecasting and – Cost Models, as well as the developing and management of Business Case and economic models focussing on NPV, IRR and Profitability Index to ensure optimum return on investments;
•Involvement and management of Costing Processes to ensure that Systems -, Infrastructure – and Construction Projects are delivered in accordance with project specifications, - budget, - deliverables and time lines and are in compliance with contract terms and conditions;

Tertiary Qualifications:
•B. Tech Degree: Internal Auditing completed through Technikon SA in December 2001,
•Management Development Programme completed through University of the Orange Free State in December 1999,
•N. Dip: Internal Auditing completed through Technikon SA in December 1996,
•N. Dip: Cost Accounting completed through Port Elizabeth Technikon SA in December 1992
