1997-present Allseas Marine Contractors, Switzerland
Deep water pipe laying and sub sea construction vessels, DP Class 3 operated.
2005-present, Deck engineer (department head deck)
Responsibilities and tasks:
• Maintenance and management of all operational related equipment, maintaining / repairing pipe lay and deck equipment with the aid of the mechanics and deck-motormen / greasers
• Supervision of - and issuing work instructions to the deck mechanics and deck-motormen
• Issuing of requisitions, stock control and assuring that adequate stock is on board to maintain equipment and redundancy of equipment
• Maintaining the maintenance & stock database
• Daily assessment and supervision of safety- and working practices, working times and working progress within the deck department and / or subcontractors
• Review of project documents and procedures
• Managing and co-ordination of conversions, calibrations and tests needed for new projects
• Liaise with Chief Engineer and Superintendent, department heads on board, purchase department, P&O department, technical department and project engineers ashore
