Industrial/Community Liaison or Relations

To influence, encourage & assist societies throughout the world to conserve our integrity & diversities, as well as contribute significantly to bottom-lines.

• Provide advice on matters pertaining to personnel policies, staff disciplinary and grievance procedures and general industrial relations matters to include attendance at formal disciplinary and grievance meetings/hearing as required.
• Advice and support policy as required in the review of work practices and /or conditions of employment
• Facilitate change through appropriate negotiation and consultation with staff representatives in conjunction with managements.
• Report industrial relations matters including matters pertaining to the interpretation and application of legislation.
• Investigate complaints about employees, employers and employment conditions.
• Partake in resolving disputes and grievances between employees, employers and the Union.
• Act as spokesperson in Union and employee negotiations.
• Coordinate all disciplinary hearings within our membership and management.
• Monitor industrial relations pulse and highlight areas of vulnerability to the Secretariat.
• Coordinate employee and corporate council meetings in conjunction with management.
• Partake in coordinating general elections for the employee at the shop floor level.
• Establish contacts and maintain regular and timely communications with partners and stakeholders; facilitate and promote the exchange of information.
• Provide the support required to the organization of external monitoring and evaluation missions.
