Maintenance strategist

To develop my career in engineering and business management

I am an Electrical Engineer with 12,5yrs experience in the petrochemical industry mainly as a maintenance strategist. I introduced the maintenance program in the company successfully. The maintenance program has a proud record of very high overall plant and equipment availability. I also have extensive experience in operations and safety management in the same industry with zero accident record. I also masterminded all documentation in the maintenance program covering defect reporting systems, permit-to-work documents, modification request forms etc. I have been active in capital and maintenance budget preparations and implementations with cost control functions on engineering and operations related issues. I have managed shift patterns and standby facilities for engineers, technicians and operators. The asset care management include 33kv substation, pump station with multi-stage pumps and associated equipment, Scada, RTUS and PLCs, cross-country pipeline with cathodic protection system, bulky storage tank farm, bulky loading facility and a whole range of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment.

I also had valuable experience in the steel making industry with Ziscosteel (Pvt) Ltd, in Zimbabwe for about 2yrs on attachment during vacations. I was involved in shutdown maintenance, daily maintenance activities and modification projects to improve reliability and safety.

I am currently finalizing my dissertation for an MBA degree specializing in International Business Management. This course has equipped me with the right tools for any international assignment with multicultural environments.

I am confident that my knowledge and experience will be beneficial to any organization that would engage my services. I am still willing to learn and develop my career further in different and conducive situations as necessary.
