Seeking a career as a Responsible Field Engineer (including Quality Assurance) or Construction Supervisor in construction of petrochemical plants and heavy industry.
Professional Experience
Field Engineering: member of construction management team (CMT) providing field-engineering support for petrochemical plant construction (current & recent experience: oil sands steam-assisted oil extraction, new Diesel Desulphurization plant, major revamp to Crude, Vacuum and Hydrocracker units, tank farm and off-sites pumping station).
Responsible for: reactor internals, tower internals, heaters, storage tanks, air-cooled exchangers, rotating equipment (compressors, pumps), and piping.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Perform audits on all contractors for compliance with contract, codes and standards; issue reports
Represent Quality Assurance at Contractor bi-weekly Quality Control meetings, contract Kick-off meetings, and Progress meetings
Review/approve contractor Quality Control Manuals, Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated exhibits
Provide full field engineering support and supervision: inspect construction daily progress, supervise compliance with construction work packages, drawings and specifications, resolve technical issues with contractors, suppliers, vendors and write reports.
Review/approve contractors welding procedures and welding matrix for all site pressure welding requirements in accordance with ASME Sect IX, B31.3 and Suncor standards. Review contractor 3rd party welding inspection reports
Inspect materials, equipment, workmanship for compliance with project requirements
Interact and co-ordinate all phases of equipment installation (stationary and rotating), final alignments & piping hydrostatic tests
Prepare field change notice (FCRs & FCNs), technical support for field procured materials, material substitution, services and equipment
Prepare work packages for contractors (mechanical / piping)
Review field survey reports, prepare field design drawings
Participate in systems walk-downs, preparation of Punch Lists of incomplete work
Review of Turnover Packages including red-lined As-Built piping and P&IDs
Provide input on back-charges
Provide input for weekly Project overview reports
Controlled calibrated measuring and test equipment for the project
Participate in site safety walks, safety committees.
Smooth transition into commissioning and start-up (of completed work).
