Operations Geologist
Working as a Operations Geologist with BP Pakistan based on rig where exploration and appraisal drilling projects are typically undertaken as well as office based preparing final well reports & completion logs to companys specifications.
Key Responsibilities:-
Responsible for analyzing, evaluating and describing formations while drilling using cuttings, gas, and wireline data; comparing data gathered during drilling with predictions made at exploration stage.
Identify lithostratigraphic formation boundaries, casing setting depths and coring points as well as responsible for making decisions about suspending or continuing drilling in coordination with the exploration team.
Liaising with drilling/petroleum/reservoir engineers to steer the well on their target to get maximum reservoir & achieve project goals.
Provides advisory support and geological guidance on drilling hazards to drilling division through their representative on rig site.
Quality Assurance and supervision of geological service companies including mud logging, wire line & LWD/MWD.
Ensures fulfillment of drilling, geological/reservoir requirements and fully implementations of well programs; acting in effect, as the representative of the geology team; ensuring transmission of logs and reports to the management and to the joint venture partners.
