Providing Engineering Services for Field Instrumentation and automation of Crude/Vaccum Distillation Unit, Saturated Gas Concentration Unit, VGO Hydrotreater Unit, Diesel Hydrotreater Unit, and Fluidized Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCC)
I was involved in various modification projects for smooth operation and healthy condition of Plant. Modifications Projects included detailing, purchase of required items, vendor co-ordination and final execution of Job.
Responsibilities:
• As an Instrument engineer, maintained the above units, supervised technicians / electricians, implemented improvements in the existing controls systems – Resolved many technical problems - Received appreciation from the Engineering manager for my contributions.
• Responsible for work requested by operations, day-to-day corrective maintenance activities, preventive maintenance, new installations / modifications, requirements of external support if necessary, assessment and ordering the spare parts.
• Plans the service and maintenance of Field Instruments according to the Preventive Maintenance System guidelines and ensures that reports for repair and maintenance of field instruments are accurate and complete as per ISO 9001 practice and Ensures that the permit to work and isolation systems are strictly adhered to in the maintenance department.
• Carries out assigned duties in a safe manner according to Company policies and procedures and Maintains records of inspection and certification of Occupational Health safety committee meeting & safety training records.
• Worked on DCS (Foxboro I/A series 51) & ESD system (TRICONEX) and Exposure to programmable logic controllers
• Competent to troubleshoot of all type of flow, pressure, level and Temperature instruments and capability to handle Smart Instruments with HART Protocol.
• Testing and trouble shooting of Machine Conditioning and Monitoring System (MCMS),Fin Fan monitoring systems, control valves, safety valves, Pilot Burners, Positioners, Regulators and I/P converters.
• Have worked on different vendors manufactured transmitters like Invensys, Magnetrol etc and Co-ordination with system vendors for troubleshooting or modifications
• Loop checking, hook up validation, JB termination validation and Maintaining Calibration record and other history of critical instruments

Bachelor of Instrumentation & Control Engineering – May 2003
Passed in First Division with an aggregate of 72% from Periyar University-Tamil Nadu State, India.
