Responsibilities:

A- PVT Lab:

Perform the following tests:

1- For pressurized crude oil sample:
a. Bubble point
b. Pressure volume relation ship(pv) and its calculations to calculate (y) factor and compressibility coefficient for oil
c. Differential vaporization at different temp.(DV)
d. Zero flash point
e. Gas oil ratio
f. Gas analysis at different pressures and calculate its Mole % and Z factor using GAS Chromatography (Perkin Elmer and HP 4890)
g. calibrate all mercury and mercury free pump types (ex: Ruska, DBR,….)
h. Viscosity for pressurized oil.

2- for de-pressurized crude oil sample
• pour point
• Viscosity @ atmospheric pressure.
• Density at work temperature, and SP.GR.
• Water cut %
• API
• Bs&w measurement
• Complete oil analysis using liquid G.C (HP 5890)

3- Complete water and mud filtrate analysis for ten ions (salinity, total hardness, resistivity , total iron , ……….)

B- NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) :

-Petrophysical NMR measurements :

*T2
*Pore size distribution
*Porosity
*permeability

C- In the field (on shore & off shore) :

- Oil sampling from seperator
- Gas sampling from seperator

- Mud testing including:

a-Viscosity :
-plastic viscocity – yield point – gel strength
(Using marsh funnel)

b-Mud weight (density)
(Using mud balance)

c-Sand content
(Using sand content kit)

d-Chemical properties:
-PH – salinity - hardness
