In twelve years of technical experience in the field of Piping Engineering, I have grown from a trainee engineer to a Piping Lead Engineer managing piping (more than 20,000 hours) for a complex chemical project thereby gaining quality experience in various aspects of Piping Engineering. This experience includes significant client interactions & problem solving at sites during pre and post installation and commissioning phases. Current responsibilities include manpower allocation and mapping, appraising of task force, identifying training requirements, etc besides overseeing the engineering function of piping design for the project.
As part of my work profile I have fair knowledge of the various international design codes pertaining to my field of piping like ASME, API & the BS Standards
The following detail engineering activities were performed in the projects worked on mentioned below:
a. Review of Basic Engineering / FED Package which includes layouts, process and offsite process Flow Diagrams & other engineering information.
b. Develop overall plot plan and area specific equipment layouts keeping in the process, safety & statutory guidelines.
c. Prepare detailed utility distribution P & ID’s from the Basic Engineering Package.
d. Prepare engineering specification for pipes, pipe fittings, flanges valves and other on line fittings.
e. Check and approve vendor’s drawings for bought out items.
f. Prepare piping layouts and detailed piping plans.
g. Prepare special pipe support specifications and drawings.
h. Prepare isometrics if required to clarify critical pipe routing.
i. Prepare technical specifications & bill of quantity for painting and insulation of pipes, valves, fittings and miscellaneous equipment to be included in the mechanical erection tender.
j. Carry out stress analysis of large bore & stress critical lines using Caesar II software.
k. Prepare load list and civil information drawings for the use of civil and structural departments.
l. Interface with other engineering and construction departments.
m. Site visits to resolve technical aspects with the contractors and also assist site engineer during mechanical / piping erection.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Petro-Chemical Engineering From MI Technology-Pune University May’1994 (1st Class with Distinction)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Management from Asian Institute of Human Resource Development -Pune in May’1997 (1st Class with Distinction).
• Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration from Institute of Management Education in May’1998 (1st Class).
