Power Plant Operator / Technician

• Conduct inspection on power plant facility both main and additional plant prior to assumed duty.
• Check coolant system, compress air system, distribution panel and switchgear, battery bank equipment including battery charger and other auxiliary equipment.
• Record / Report any abnormalities on the power generating equipment including power outages (if any)
• Operate and control power generating equipment through automatic and manual switchboard.
• Start-up / Shutdown and perform synchronization of the diesel generator units.
• Records data parameters of the parallel engines on the appropriate form on hourly basis.
• Monitor control and switchboard panel.
• Transfer fuel from the main storage to the individual engine fuel day tank.
• Enter data's in the computer concerning fuel and lube oil consumption and the total power generates for the 24 hours operation.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly inspection on all caterpillar diesel engines including the standby generator.
• Ensure and maintains power plant in good and operational condition.
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the six (6) units caterpillar diesel generator, model 3512, 1200 kw and five (5) units Caterpillar diesel generator, model 3608, 11KV, 3250 kva, 2600 kw.
• Perform troubleshoot to all discrepancies noted during operation and inspection.
• Perform lube oil sample for every 250, 500, 100, 2000, 4000 and 8000 running hours of the engine for the laboratory analysis.
• Perform PMI such as: Change oil, Check/adjust valve clearance, valve bridge adjustment, injector timing, fuel rack synchronization.
• Perform PMI on two (2) units Air Compressors.
• Perform PMI on Main DC battery charger.
• Responds trouble call and restored power immediately when power outage occurred.
• Follow safety rule and regulation and standard operating procedures.
• Perform receiving fuel and issuing diesel fuel.
