Professional Experience
August 2006 – Present: Training Advisor for ExxonMobil New Projects: employed by Training Partners Limited and working at ExxonMobil New Operations Department in Houston. I am currently working on the detailed Training and CAS planning for EM’s Adriatic Liquified Natural Gas project offshore Italy
and on two Nigerian projects.
April 2005 – June 2006 Training / CAS Coordinator for Nigerian New Projects: employed by Training Partners Limited and working for ExxonMobil in the New Operations Department in Houston.
March 1998 – October 2004 Libyan Integration and Development Coordinator (LIDC), Wintershall Libya. Based in the desert facilities on a rotational basis, my job description was to work towards the target of developing the Libyan staff; organise and oversee all training and develop a Competency Assessment programme.
1997-1998 Assistant English Co-ordinator, CanOxy, Masila, Yemen. Desert based and rotational, I was tasked with organising and delivering general and Technical English courses, as well as identifying specialist needs and developing courses accordingly. A considerable amount of work went into oil field related courses for the Yemeni employees.
1994-1997 Director of Studies of EFL Programme, Bath Spa University College, Bath. I was responsible for the development and delivery of English (EFL, ESP, EAP, etc) courses at the college using the existing contacts in the Far East, particularly Japan and developing new contacts and courses.
1990 – 1994 Senior English Teacher, Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Benghazi, Libya. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the English unit. Courses were both general and oil industry specific. 1989 – 1990 Technical English Instructor, Yanbu Industrial College, Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. I have wide international experience and have worked extensively in the oil and gas industry. I have worked in a number of supervisory positions and am able to drive a team and work well as a team member. My interpersonal skills and communication skills are excellent and I have worked in numerous multicultural environments.
A number of my jobs have been centred around nationalizing the workforce and I have had considerable experience and success in nthis area.
I have fairly goo PC skills and am familiar with most standard office software.
I speak basic colloquial Arabic, passable French but my Spanish has gone rusty.
