AREA OF EXPOSURE
1. Power generation and distribution system (A.C. & D.C.)
Power generation and distribution of 600 V, 60 Hz, 3-phase system. Diesel driven generators up-to 1500 kW (brush type and brushless) with safety interlock and associated switchgears up-to 2500 Amps capacity.
Adequate knowledge on GE, CAT Alternators, main and auxiliary switch boards. HT/LT. switchgears, Auto Circuit Breakers, Auto voltage regulators, protective devices, warning panels. Parallel operation of generators. Manual / Auto synchronizing and load sharing system with safety interlocks. Remote and local control of circuit breakers and automatic shutdown panel.
Maintenance and operation of SCR systems (Ross Hill, GE make). Varco Top Drive (PLC controlled), DC motors series and shunt, Eddy current brake of Elmago.
2. Drilling / Jacking / Skidding related equipment
Varco Top drive, Rotary, Mud Pumps & Drawworks, Shale shakers, mud cleaners, crown saver control systems. National Jacking system & Renau intnl. Skidding systems. Electrowave and M/D Totco Mud and drill data logger with remote computer display and chart recorder & SWACO systems.
3. Engine / Compressor room auxiliaries.
Caterpillar Diesel Engines D399, D398 & 3516, Heavy duty AC / DC motors with various types of starters having protective devices. HP / LP compressors, seawater distilling plant with automatic salinity control, fire and bilge pumps,Deepwell pumps, UV purifier, circulating pumps, and sewage treatment plants.

Cranes ¡V Le Tourneu (PCM 120):- electrical & NATIONAL: - Hydraulic/pneumatic associated with electrical limit and safety interlocks. Also adequate knowledge on MIPEG & M/D Totco load monitoring system.
5. Safety & Navigation systems.
Adequate knowledge on navigation and obstruction lighting system. High frequency fog beacon, UHF, VHF, V-Sat & Inmarsat, in-house telephone & PA systems. Emergency lighting, smoke, heat and break glass fire detection system, gas and H2S detection system, general alarms. Also Adequate knowledge on emergency engine auto start system.
