I am an Egyptian candidate with six years shipping experience (Operations and Commercial Chartering) in ship-owners companies running a diverse fleet of Medium Range tankers, Product tankers, Oil Tankers (Aframax & Suezmax) and LPG.

Responsibilities and Achievements:

1) Chartering out of the owned fleet and optimising vessel performance by maintaining strong relationships with ship brokers and clients.
2) Working voyage estimates in order to decide on the net estimates profit as well as the TCE (Time Charter Equivalent) for every offer. Then decide on the most profitable business taking into consideration the prevailing market rates as well as considering how close the ship will be to the active trading market after completion of voyage.
3) Responsible for all operational issues of designated vessels placed under my charge. These responsibilities include carrying out all vessels’ operational matters pursuant to the charter party in order to achieve maximum on-hire time and minimizing all downtime and delays.
4) Preparing market analysis reports based on the current tanker market rates and spotting the most convenient trading route/earning and prepare a voyage estimate accordingly. If the estimate proved to be profitable, I enter into negotiations with potential Oil majors for fixing the ship accordingly.
5) Assist in the company's ship chartering activities, particularly in providing support to the sourcing of ships, negotiations for chartering contracts and related operational functions such as preparing the post fixture details i.e. stowage plan as well as vessel's trading certificates. Finally yet importantly, adhere to the company's policy in maintaining good rapport and meet all service needs of our clients i.e. vessels' charterers.
6) After the vessel has been fixed, I start discussing the loading and discharging schedule with the ship’s command as well as vessel’s maximum cargo intake. Stemming of bunkers in view of the intended cargo intake. Arranging for the required hoses, portable pumps (if need be) in order to achieve a quick and smooth turnaround of the ship at the respective load and discharge ports.
7) In cases of vessel’s given on long-term Time Charter agreements, It is part and parcel of my responsibilities to monitor and track periodical hire payments and resolve/settle statements of accounts for each charter account expeditiously.
