Trainee Petroleum & Gas Engineer

To obtain a Petroleum Engineer position with an exploration/production/services company in the oilfield

• 6 Weeks Summer Internship – Pakistan Petroleum limited, Production Department PIDC Karachi, (June – July 2006).
JOBS/ TASKS PERFORMED at PPL
1. I went through the completion design, selection and installation of completion equipments and procedure necessary to bring the well into production and there after to produce in a manner which satisfy the company objective.
2. Went through different types of packers, their installation, perforation, completion programs, well Acidizing program and workover programs.
3. Complete a task to design a downhole well completion and Draw no of downhole completion sketches of Sui Gas Field (well # 01 to well # 15) in MS Excel.
4. Went through well testing, its objective, types, well testing program, complete procedure to perform DST, surface and downhole facilities during well testing.
5. Studied the functions of different wellhead & X’Mass tree component, surface and subsurface safety system.
6. Studied the gas processing & purification system of Adhi and Sui field of PPL.
7. Work on well performance analysis using “PROSPER” software.
8. Field visit of Adhi condensate field where I visited LPG/NGL recovery plant, different production wells and drilling side of Adhi well # 18 which was under the process of running in hole 9 5/8’’ casing and thereafter cementing.
• Visit to Fimkassar oilfield for study in Feb. 2005(field operated by OGDCL, Pakistan) production and Injection well.

• Visit to Chak Naurang-1(sucker rod pump) and Chak Naurang-2 in Feb. 2005(field operated by OGDCL, Pakistan).

• Visit to Saba well-1 during drilling operations march 2005 in Pakistan.

• Annual Technical Conference (ATC) – Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Islamabad, Pakistan, 2005.
• All Pakistan SPE Student Paper Contest – UET Lahore. 11th November 2006. Member of organizing committee to held the conference.
