Operations Manager - all Industries

To be able to use my industrial experience and all my Safety Health and Environmental experience within the UAE to gain employmnt with a forward looking company.

. I Report to Operations Manager. I manage a team of skilled Control Room Operators 15, Field Operators 15, Warehouse Operators 12, Engineering Technicians 2, Engineering Maintenance Engineers 8, Shift Chemist 2, and different contract staff up to 60(Scaffolders, Laggers, Fitters, etc.) When I first Joined Nippon Gohsei my responsibilities was for the recruitment of staff, development of training material on the plant, process, Health and Safety regulations, Control Of Hazards and Major Accidents COHMA site, Integrated Pollution Prevention Control IPPC, Development of Permit To Work, Writing and development of Commissioning and Pre Commissioning Procedures and then Leading the Commissioning of the Process Plant using the staff, Writing and development of Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Maintenance Procedures, Setting up of all systems to take the plant into full production. As well as being the Incident liaisons Officer for the site when on duty. Now my role is to ensure that the companies KPI's are met buy the operations team, this includes Production Targets, Quality Targets, Safety Targets and ensuring the Plants is manned up as well as the development of the plant and people. The development of commissioning procedures and completing of the commissioning was two weeks ahead of target, and the product was in specification within the second production run to put this into prospective the production plant in the USA took over 9 months to produce product that was in specification.

I am looking for the opportunity to live and work in the UAE. I speak English and Arabic fluently. I have a Higher National Diploma In Manufacturing Systems Production Engineering and I also have a Supervisory Management Certificate from the Institute for Supervision and Management.I have several years Production/Operations Management experience in the FMCG Beverages industry and in the chemical industry. This includes writing production plans and the implementation of the plans to ensure KPI's are achieved and surpassed, controlling department budget, monitoring the production process to identify areas for improvement in operational, process, Safety, Health and environmental areas. Setting up of policies, SOP's and SMP's.

Working on continuous improvement projects this included scheduled maintenance of equipment and plant to minimize break downs and improve bottle necks of the process. working on resolving day to day and long term problems affecting production, staff, product quality, safety, health and environmental issues to avoid production down times. I also wrote commissioning procedures and then being responsible for commissioning and taking a 75 Million Pound chemical plant into full production. This also included the recruitment and training of operators and all the health safety and environmental issues that go with a COMAH site.I have also done several Health, safety and Environmental courses from IOSH Management of safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Control of Major Accident and Hazards (COMAH), The Integrated Pollution Permit Control (IPPC), writing and implementing Permit to work systems and carrying out plant isolations and de-isolations. Writing emergency procedures. carrying out health safety and environmental audits and the implementing and closing off actions and looking at and keeping up with Legislation, Regulations and Duty of Care. On Joining Nippon Gohsei UK. In january 2003 I helped establish the companies Safety, Health and Environmental standards and site rules as well as the safe systems of work for the site. I also rolled out training for all site personnel and contractors coming on site.
