Planning Engineer

AN ENTRY-LEVEL PROJECT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT POSITION

▪ Work independently and is in control of all aspects of the work.
▪ Analyze project controls data and highlight areas of concern
▪ Able to determine corrective action to ensure project remains on schedule.
▪ Coordinate to information from other disciplines
▪ Identifies any changes in scope
▪ Responsible for analyzing and effective forecasting of discipline manpower
▪ requirements, physical progress and resource requirements.
▪ Responsible for compilation and coordination of progress reports.
▪ Responsible for the development of E, P and C logic network schedules
▪ Responsible for follow up of construction schedules and construction control
aspects on the construction site.
▪ Determine critical path network
▪ Responsible for detailed schedules for piping, instrumentation, electrical tie in
activities in existing facilities.
▪ Attend schedule meetings with subcontractors
▪ Execute tasks of colleagues as required, including replacing more experienced
colleagues for short periods.
▪ Provide guidance to subordinates
▪ Develops and maintains effective working relationships with clients,
▪ Represents the company at meetings with officials from other organizations.
▪ Makes decisions on engineering problems and methods.
▪ Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgement,
▪ Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
▪ Undertakes employee performance appraisals and provides coaching.
▪ Manages assigned staff and budgets.
▪ Plans, budgets, organises, coordinates and controls projects.
▪ Responsible for independently applying advanced scheduling and planning techniques and analysis within a project environment.
▪ Supervise a small group of Scheduler/Planners in developing, maintaining, and analyzing critical path plans and related schedules on projects of moderate size and complexity.
