Commissioning Electrical Engineer, Ghazlan Power Plant (Phase II):
Served as a leader for the electrical group, which was part of the GPP II team responsible for commissioning phase II of Ghazlan power plant. Major tasks during this assignment included:
Review Design Specifications & Contract Provisions:
Thoroughly studied the plant design details and specifications and compared them with the contract requirements.
Worked with the electrical group to review all electrical systems and equipment details and ensured their compatibility with the contract specifications.
Monitored the erection of electrical systems and equipment and ensured proper installations (cable trays, cathodic protection, cable tunnels, etc.).
Pre-Commissioning of Unit Systems:
Pre-commissioned switchgears, batteries, battery chargers, inverters, generators, segregated /non segregated buses, automatic voltage regulators, transformers, protection & monitoring relays, CT's & PT's, transformers, paging system, etc.
Commissioning was made according to the contract requirements, approved design, international standards and the manufacturer's standards as applicable.
Instruction Manuals and Spare Parts:
Verified the completeness of the instruction books and operation manuals for all electrical systems and equipment.
Prepared lists of spare parts requirements for the plant's electrical systems and equipments.
Coordination with the Contractors:
During the commissioning process, I served also as the principal coordinator with the contractor and sub-contractors (including Bechtel, Mitsubishi heavy industries, ABB, Alston, Denora, Cyprix, Hitachi, Siemens, Saudi Cable Company, GE, and MELCO).

Instrument Engineer, Ghazlan Power Plant (Phase I):
Worked in Ghazlan Phase I as a PDP plant engineer with a rotation assignment in several units including electrical, instrumentation & control, mechanical, material and engineering.
Major assignments during the first year included:
Development of electrical designs for powering and lighting new buildings within the plant (offices, break rooms, machine shops, etc.).
Installing new photo cell based systems to control lighting in the plant, and carrying out modifications to cable ducts casings to prevent water leakage.
In the second year, I worked as a PDP instrument engineer. Major tasks included:
Installation of new analysis equipment (such as PH, condensate, silica and CO analyzers) in the sample and control rooms.
Direct involvement in the design process of the new DCS system.
Participation in TAMAM team which was formed to deal with the problems facing new PDP program participants, and to develop training assignment plans for PDP engineers in different concentrations.
