Career Objective
Chemist position wherein I can apply my skills in chemistry and/or contracts, labor, corporate, intellectual property law, enhance aptitudes in planning, organizing and develop a career as a chemist-lawyer in research and industrial environment.
Professional Experience
I am a Philippine licensed chemist presently connected with Societè General de Surveillance Regional Operating Headquarters (SGS Gulf Limited ROHQ) where I work as Procurement Analyst. I am also analytical consultant of Rizal Poultry and Livestock Association and Supervet International on a retained basis. Rizal Poultry is a medium sized broiler integrator. I have had experience doing assays and method validation of veterinary pharmaceuticals and proximate analyses of feeds and feed ingredients including mycotoxin immunoassays where I get to apply my knowledge in Statistical Process Control in the performing in-process and finished product assaying to determine conformity with product specification using standard and validated in-house procedures. I have been a member of a committee in Rizal Poultry which organized a Quality Management System preparatory to ISO 9000:2000 standard compliance and assisted in sales campaigns as technical resource person for Supervet.
I have also been a Forensic Analytical Chemist from 2000-2004 with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) [the NBI is the Philippine counterpart of the US FBI]. One of my functions included, as part of securing the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the conduct of routine analysis of Aviation JET A-1 fuels against applicable ASTM Standards. These Jet-A1 fuel analyses are performed just hours before each and every airplane/ helicopter flights carrying the President. Likewise, as Forensic Chemist, I also had the opportunity to apply physico-chemical knowledge and skills in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of submitted materials in the forensic chemistry cases handled by the NBI such as prohibited and regulated drugs, counterfeit drugs in violation of intellectual property laws, and toxicological examinations involving medico-legal cases using wet and instrumental methods which include GC-MS, FT-IR, UV-Visible Spectrophotometry and presenting the results in court cases as government expert witness.
