High Voltage Engineer duties are, but not limited to:
• Preparation, implementation and verification of High Voltage pre-commissioning and commissioning systems activities.
• Commission safety and efficiently to ensure performance and subsequent verification/acceptance are completed in accordance with requirements.
• Coordinate and interface with other disciplines and projects team member as required to meet/promote project objectives.
• Initiate all corrective actions in line with the Construction Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to achieve commissioning targets and objectives
• Conduct, issue and follow-up system punch lists associated with 34.5KV, 4160KV System.
• Operation , Preventive and Corrective maintenance on 34.5KV & 5KV gear.
• Supervise all high voltage work contracted to other companies, ensuring that the circuits to be worked on are properly isolated, grounded, locked and tagged out before any work is done, ensuring that the work is done correctly and that the circuit is fully ready to be energized before being placed back in service.
• Maintain all high voltage safety gear and tools in accordance with regulatory specifications.
• Maintain the inventory database and PM schedule for 34.5 kV transmission and distribution equipment .
• Fails diagnostic and troubleshooting.
