To obtain a long term position as a Power Plant Operator or Technician outside of Canada where my diverse operational background along with my five years of experience in power plant operations and my education at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, can benefit any team, anywhere.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Have 10 years plant operations experience at the age of 33.
Physically fit, workout regularly, do not drink or smoke.
Served as Shift Safety Representative and conducted meetings.
Power plant operator for two separate power plants at the same oil refinery, that combined, generates about 365 MW.
These two plants consist of three coke fired one million Lb/Hr steam generators, two 20 MW extraction turbines, a combined cycle cogeneration plant that has two gas fired turbines with associated 100 MW generators, two high pressure HRSG’s and two 70 MW condensing turbines.
Member of ASET (Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta) and designated Certified Technician (C.Tech) in Mechanical and Power Engineering disciplines.
Currently studying for the 2nd Class exams and have accumulated the qualifying steam/operational time in a 1st Class power plant in order to challenge these exams according to the Alberta Boilers and Safety Association.
Have excellent troubleshooting skills regarding instrumentation, controls and mechanical equipment.
Have experience in HVAC&R (high-rise buildings), control room (DCS), commissioning new plants, process and batch plant (bitumen) operations.
Past member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Primary Reserves, Combat Field Engineer).
Experienced with working on teams, with contractors and independently.

This was a two year, nationally accredited program that I completed in less time by not taking the traditional summer break between the first and second years.

In this program we used a state of the art power lab to operate various boilers and turbines as well as generate electricity and synchronize to the grid.
Graduated with certificate and obtained a 3rd Class Power Engineering
