ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Received fast promotion as a result of good understanding and ability to perform above the norm.
2. On account half of American Eagle Tanker fleet of vessels has Aalborg boilers, I set about ensuring that I have an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the equipment, as a consequence I was able to save American Eagle Tanker many thousands of dollars. I was assigned to M.T. Bunga Kenaga, the most advance vessel (2003/2004) in the fleet, on account of my expertise with Aalborg boilers.
3. Designed and implemented proper startup/shut down procedures (process control) for the Cargo Oil Pump Turbine operation (cargo discharge procedure) thus reducing maintenance intervals.
4. Whilst serving as a 4th engineer, I had to lead a team of 3 men conducting main engine overhaul .This was on account the 2nd and 1st engineer were incapacitated due to dehydration and the 3rd engineer did not feel competent to perform the job.
5. In 2005 my quick and calm response to a potential major oil spill caused by a ruptured discharge pipe in the pump room was averted. This was potentially a multi billion dollar saving, not only to my employer but to the environment.
