Roustabout / Entry-level / On or Off-shore

I am considering a career change to the Oil Industry and am keen to have an opportunity to work in this challenging environment. I am looking for an entry level position on a rig and would like to become a professional in the industry.

As I was previously employed as a secretary in the Human Resources Department of HT Group (PTY) Ltd I am aware of the importance of treating clients in the most professional manner as to ensure mutual loyalty and excellent service.

I possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, is well groomed and professional in my behaviour toward others. I am careful and conservative in my behavioural style, is diplomatic and willing to compromise in order to meet the needs of others and achieve my team’s goals.

I am very careful and tend to be perfectionistic in making decisions due to my natural striving to get things exactly right. Apart from this, I am painstaking and accurate in carrying out tasks delegated to me and pay great attention to detail.

As a result of working for the South African National Defence Force, I gained the ability to adapt to varying situations and work for long hours at a time if and when so required.

Because I have also worked as a volunteer and instructor for the South African First Aid League for over five years, I gained the ability to act calmly and collectively under all circumstances, especially when confronted with an emergency. Furthermore, I can assess problematic areas/situations and act accordingly and promptly.

I not only set very high standards for myself but also am very demanding and critical in ensuring they are met. I enjoy being part of a team of professionals and experts and possess the ability to work well under pressure.

I do not have any industry related certification but am willing to undergo any training required to have the necessary certification.

I have reached a stage in life where I no longer am satisfied with having an ordinary “9 to 5” job. I want to pursue a career (specifically in the Oil Industry) where I not only will experience job satisfaction and form part of an extraordinary team of professionals, but one that will be both exciting and rewarding.

I have also some experience gained in the SANDF w r t logistics, i e:

• Receiving stock and ensuring correct delivery according to Government orders.
• Confirmation of stock required and making suggestions of how expenditure can
be minimised.
• Stocktaking.
• Keeping records up to date w r t issues (daily, weekly & monthly).
• Weekly & monthly feedback on stock levels and stock issued.
• Ensuring that a minimum of 10% of stock is kept in reserve at all times.
• Informing the RSQM/2IC w r t problem areas.
