Professional Experience
•Research Work and Relevant Skills:
1.Currently, studying the effect of certain molar fractions of Ceria and other powder preparation and sintering parameters in stabilising Zirconia tetragonal/cubic phase. The stabilised metal oxide functions as an electrolyte layer in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, SOFC.
2.Predicted molar ratios, phases present, their proportions and lattice parameters in polycrystalline metal oxides using Rigaku Miniflex X-ray Diffracometer equipment and Raman Spectrometer.
3.Performed quantitative and qualitative analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope and accompanying ‘WINEDS’ X-ray micro-analyser software for conductive and nonconductive specimens.
4.Produced and analysed micro-structure images using Nikon Epiphot Photomicroscope.
5.Determined Vickers hardness using Vickers hardness Testing Equipment.
6.Measured steel hardnability using the Jominy Test Equipment.
7.Justified the process and materials involved in manufacturing a component made of Aluminium alloy and another made of Piezoelectric material using analytical techniques mentioned above(Reverse Engineering).
8.Used Cambridge Engineering Selector Software (CES2006) - for materials and processes selection.
*Mechanical Engineer,(2002/06):
•Headed a team of different professions responsible for installation, maintenance and repairs of continuous production plant.
•Implemented technical methodologies to protect production units against fatigue and wear.
•Responsible for preparing technical drawings/specifications of spare-parts prior to casting.
•Supervised welding/joining activities of metals and polymers.
•Designed chemical feeding systems and selected materials involved.
•Established technical reporting system that correlated different departments for better planning.
•Facilitated the management with team expenditure on monthly basis.
•Created dynamic and friendly working environment.
Professional Training:
Mechanical Engineer, Dangote Flour Mills, (2001/02):
•Achieved preventive maintenance schedule which enhanced the stability of the production and drastically resulted in the reduction of unexpected break-downs.
•Established appropriate maintenance feedback reporting system and records which became an excellent reference for all maintenance teams of different shift duties.
Eductation
MSc.(Eng) Advanced Engineering Materials –Distinction-, University of Liverpool, (2006/07):
•Atomic arrangements and lattice structures in crystalline metals and ceramics, molecular configurations of polymers and characteristics of fibres for composites.
•Inducing appreciable properties into materials, bulk or surface, by means of structural development at atomic/molecular level, heat/chemical/physical treatments and processes, alloying and hot/cold working to control internal defects and resist external effects.
•Methods for determining materials strength, in tension and compression, and strain rate/creep.
•Conventional and advanced materials manufacturing, joining and fabricating techniques.
•Laser’s working and applications in welding, cutting, marking, cleaning and surface treatment processes.
•Fundamentals and applications of STM and AFM in nanotechnology.
