ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER , SITE ENGINEER

To complete projects within budget, in time and client's specification in a safe and efficient eviroment

Accountable for all electrical engineering and some instrumentation scope of works
Duties include:-

Site audit - Inspection of the complete existing HT and LT Electrical reticulation and switchgear
Defining the scope of Works
Specifications, tendering, contract adjudication and awards
Electrical installation and specialist contractors appointments
BOQ and Budget controls
Assisting Project Planner implementing work programs

Engineering and design documentation for the procurement of new and refurbishment of HT & LT Transformers & Switchgear, MCC’s and cabling
Implementing designs solutions for the existing systems and the need to interface with the new systems

Specifying Refurbishment method statements for Power & Distribution transformers, HV and MV switchgear.
Responsible for the Contractor’s compliance with specifications, procedures, and best practice adherence to engineering quality and standards
Implementation of QA, QS, Check lists and Electrical test certificates programs

Reviewing and responding to Technical Queries from the Client, Contractors and equipment suppliers.
Assisting in technical preparation to responses for variation proposal by Contractor.

Staff responsibilities, include assisting as required in the management, administration and training of other site personnel, systems and activities.

Health, Safety and the Environment by following and implementing the Project HSE Policies and Procedures.

Registered with the Engineering Council of South African (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist

Electrical Engineer with over 31 years experience in Electrical Engineering, Design, Commissioning, Cad Drafting, Installation and Project activities.
