Nature of works (Duties & Responsibilities):

3.1 -Laboratory Specialist 3rd

• Preparation of laboratory classes for undergraduate students in the following subjects:
- General Chemistry, including Volumetric, acidic & basic radicals’ qualitative analysis.
- Organic Chemistry, comprising functional groups testing and synthesis experiments.
- Modern Methods of Chemical Analysis; this comprises analysis carried out using equipment such as: Spectrophotometer, Chromatography equipment and other commonly used lab. Equipment such as pH meter, conductivity meters …etc.
- Physical chemistry
- Inorganic chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Physics
- Biology
• Assisting postgraduate student to implement experiments, using lab. Equipment and carry out analysis throughout their B.Sc. experiments.
• Maintenance of all labs. Equipment.

3.2 -Laboratory Specialist 2nd

• Train the new lab. Specialists 3rd and 4th and supervise
their performance.
• Insure sufficiency of equipment, chemicals and lab. Teaching materials.
• Procure lab requirement from local and overseas companies.
• Receive and register the new equipment arrived to the labs from the companies.
• Maintain lab Equipments.
• Account the things belonging to the labs at the end of each semester.


3.3 - Head of Laboratories unit

• Manage staff and technical activities and issues in the office environment.
• Supervising all laboratories of the department
• Supervising performance of lab Staff.
• Preparing tender documents (terms, conditions & contracts) of laboratory requirements for all colleges under supervision of Ministry of Higher Education in Oman.
• Determining chemicals, equipment and lab materials required for the college’ labs.
• Preparing specifications of furniture and designing layouts for new labs.
• Preparing specifications of laboratory equipment required.
• Analysis of laboratory requirements tenders.
• Coordinating between teaching staff, administration and technical staff

-Bachelor in Science with a specialization in Chemistry from Sultan Qaboos University in Nov.1997 with grade of 2(Good).
-Sultanate of Oman Secondary School Certificate in June 1992 major of Science with score of 86.5%.

Skills:
• Good IT knowledge.
• Very good in using Microsoft Word, excel, outlook, SPSS and Internet.
• Good in writing administration letters in Arabic and English languages.

• High ability to lead and steer younger staff members and contribute to their competence development.
