Position: Petrotech Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:-:

• Provide professional support services to more than 100 Bp Exploration/Drilling Engineers and 25 Servers Mix of Solaris and Redhat
• Manage and control Data Storage Devices ( NetApp R200) with (Ontap)
• Manage and control IBM Tape Libraries 3584 series . With (Legato Networker ) Backup Solution
• Responsible for Monitoring Securing, Updating 25 Servers running Network/Petrotech services, Web server, Mail, Proxy, DNS, Firewall , Petroleum Application server , Licenses server (FlexLM) , Nis , Ldap . Sdi-Printing server , Sun Grid Engine (Cluster Solution with 64 cpu running with rocks) and Sun Secure Desktop, Managing technical relation with third-party hardware support personnel.
• Providing technical assistance and support for applications ( Good Knowledge in trouble shooting Landmark Applications such as Geoprobe , Openworks , Promax , Siesworks ..),
• Install patches to solve application related problems
• Responsible for Backup Duties and Plans , Implementing software Upgrade/Migration projects
• Maintaining System Security , permissions based on users level and file level
• Configuring new installed hardware and put it in operational environment
• Follow up on the progress of Software/Hardware solving process
• Track Calls with call tracking systems (Pregrine) , Action Management (Gsms-Remedy)
• Manage the documentation of all UNIX/Linux configurations, processes and deliverables.
