Base Oils Local Purchases: Inventory management, forecasting, procurement, transportation and upliftment of local base oils bulk from refinery. Daily purchases of upto Rs.25m product and see loss and gain on receipt. RTHSE of LBO & Bitumen transp. Monitor COGS & days cover.maintained good business relationship with local and international refineries officials
Base Oils Imports:
ICIS-LOR follow up for best imports deals. Provide all support for import tendering, pricing, negociation to my seniors. Manage all import processes, transp. safety clearance of vessels, arrangement of all quality specs. and all allied matters. I coordinate with Foreign suppliers to ensue that product reaches in time and according to the contract. Banks to ensure timely placement and retirement of Letter of Credits, Indemnity bonds and Taxes Advance. Ensure that supplier’s vessels specs.are in line with our co/govt of Pakistan minimum safety standards. Arrangement of discharging lines from other private companies on arrival of Base oils vessels. Coordinate with Receipt Deptt, Outbond Deptt, Technical and Blending deptt for smooth decantation of imported bulk.Responsible for cost/kg calculations. Timely payment to our foreign suppliers and all clearances in JDE is also one of my KPI.Close coordination with Marketing team for their forecast and planning so that materials can be arranged accordingly. Day-to-day negotiation and queries replies with suppliers and Zonal team members, shipping companies, customs, banks and internal customers (deptt.) etc.
Additives Import & Local Purchases:
-Raw materials and inventory management of more than 250 SKUs, volume 500mt/m, kusd 1500. Monthly purchases of approx. kusd 700. Sales forecast, consumption trends, & global market status are my essential tools for inventory management.
-Analyse cost/kg, clearing, customs and other costs of each shipment
-Maintain stocks days cover and working capital
-keep eye on all depots finished stocks to avoid extra stockage
-clearance of shipments, delivery at Plant, loss/gain at receipt end or any other issue during clearance with customs, clearing agent or shipping
agencies.
-Close co-ordination with foreign suppliers, Zone, SLSC, Finance Deptt and Banks. a)Timely payments of additives b)Manage to keep Zero cost for obsolete additives c) RTHSE for Additives fleets

My achievement:
Raw material for 63000kl production/annum. Reduction of 45% monthly base oils inventory (approx kusd 400 = Rs.24m) without any dryout and got best performance award. Controlled and streamlined all additives inventory – approx. cost kusd 50. This stock was 15 to 20 years old.
-Implemented HSSE at Refinery and managed contamination free products
-Due to strong follow ups and business relationship with refinery, I managed to received products while other competitors were dry out and in the
result we have obtained 21% extra competitor,s business in 2005.
-Sucessfully arranged 15 days credit with unlimited amount facility with refinery
